A personal strategic plan looks out 3 years or so and is a vision,
with an implementation plan, of how you want things to go. A
personal strategic plan gives you a direction, a focus. And very
often, when you take the time to be proactive and define what you
want, then you accomplish what you’ve set out in your plan.
Usually sooner than you had thought!

WHY DO COMPANIES USE STRATEGIC PLANNING
Strategic planning is a well-known business tool. Businesses know how
important it is to pause, reflect, and come up with a plan that maps
out where they want to go. They create a mission (purpose) statement,
a vision (direction) statement, and goals. Then they devise an action
plan that lays out how they’re going to achieve those goals.
Forward-looking companies choose to be proactive, rather than just
react to whatever happens in the marketplace. And what happens when
the people in the company all agree on where they want to go? Doors
open, sometimes unexpectedly. Their concerted focus and energy, all
pulling in the same direction, enables them to accomplish their goals.
