You see, a few years back, after I had graduated, I lived in Sheffield, UK.
I was finding it hard to find a job, and to cheer myself up I would go down to the greyhound track...
Well... Usually ...
This time, after a race some of my mates where queuing up to put their bets on for the next race when this guy in a suit walks passed after collecting his winnings from the last race.
I didnt really see exactly what happened because this guy in a suit was behind me when another other guy must have knocked into him, because there was some swearing and as I turned around I saw the guy in a suit pick up a huge wad of cash that must have dropped out of his hand or his pocket or something.
That caught my eye and the guy who knocked into him must have clocked it too, because he starts tauntiing this guy, saying things like
'Oh right, rich guy, are you?', then he starts asking for money off this guy, saying 'Give me £50 mate, I'll bet it for you, and if we win we'll split the money'
He was pretty persuasive and eventually the guy in the suit gives the other guy, (who was built like a brick sh**house by the way), 3 english pounds and then says to him
'There you go mate, go get yourself a drink on me, no hard feelings, yeah?'..
'A drink?' this muscle bound guy says to the guy in the suit,
'I saw at least a couple of grand in £50's there mate... !!'
but not only that!...
I was now behind this scene and a load of it ends up on ME!
Now Im pissed off, so I shout 'Hey, Mate, That's out of order!'.
Anyway - I go over as Im not having any of this, but before I can get there a scuffle has broken out between them, so now Im thinking I better just break this up...
So I jump in to try and stop someone getting hurt,
But... before I know it security have grabbed hold of me and the other two guys and are literally dragging us out of the building, down some kind of back entrance or fire exit.
As I protest saying I was just trying to help out and break up the scuffle, these security guards are shouting at me 'You're out of here mate! Get out!! - cool down, and come back another day'
So all three of use have been chucked out on the street, and I'm noticing that the guy in a suit is looking pretty glad I'm there as well, I mean he wasnt that skinny and small, but this other guy was really big and me being there with beer all over my shirt as well as him made me on his side.
With me and the guy in the suit on one side and this big pr*ck on the other.
The guy in the suit turns away and bekones to me
'Come on mate, just walk away'
Well, that was obviously the right thing to do so we slowely back away, and luckily, so does he.
'Phewww' I said, 'that was intense'
'Man' Came the reply, 'I am so glad you jumped in, and I didnt end up on the street with that guy alone'... 'What's your name man, my name's Phil - Let me give you a lift home!'
