Welcome to the club.

JUST LIKE THOUSANDS OF WOMEN ACROSS THE WORLD, I have had the same
problems with weight-loss. I have tried every diet that was ever
mentioned to me. Not to mention the ones I was able to read in
magazines and on the Internet.

LOSING WEIGHT IS ONE OF THE MOST STRESSFUL THINGS FOR MANY WOMEN (OR
AT LEAST TRYING TOO), but if you are thinking all that stress will
bring down your weight a few stones or pounds, you are wrong. You will
actually gain weight due to stress. This is my personal experience.
After having two kids, the problem only become more complex.

BUT THE THERE IS NO REASON TO LOSE HOPE YET.

After my first kid, I thought loosing the extra pounds would be as
simple as it seemed to gain them! HOW WRONG I WAS! It is worse than
trying to get rid of an extremely annoying _friend_. Starving yourself
is a strict no-no (_this can instigate other health complications_).
Especially for nursing mothers!

There are more _"diets_" than there are
healthy foods available!

The liquid-only diet can work for sometime till you end up wanting
to use the toilet at odd times and all the time. The protein-only-diet
will leave you starving and salivating for other foods. And once you
stop, you may end up eating all the food you craved for; thus, gaining
more weight in one vicious setting! IT IS ONE HORRENDOUS CATCH-22
SITUATION. And there are hundreds of other diets; some of which I have
tried and some which I dare not! THE DIETS WHERE YOU _PLAN_ EVERY MEAL
OF THE DAY, WORKS TOO; ALBEIT ONLY FOR SOME TIME!

But after a while, the planning simply bogs you down and you will end
up switching to your regular food and normal routine. WHO REALLY HAS
TIME TO COUNT CALORIES? That consumes 30 minutes a day, perhaps more.
Women who juggle their career, children, and family life will find the
_planned_ diet more difficult to stick to than following a three year
old around on the playground.

Exercising of course is the best way to lose weight even if you do or
don't follow a specific diet system. I try to incorporate at least 30
minutes of simple walking on an everyday basis. At 48-years of age,
two kids, and a career, that is all I can manage and it is enough
after I found the right method.

Though I have always battled weight issues from my teenage years, I
have had never had as much problem after having children. I cannot
point the finger at them completely though; that is not setting a good
example. Moreover, not that my husband ever minded those extra pounds.
HE IN FACT THOUGHT THE EXTRA POUNDS _SAT_ WELL ON ME!

But not my oldest child! He wondered why I could look more like his
teacher or our neighbor down the street. I barely managed to keep my
mouth shut by retorting that perhaps they have not had children yet.
But I wanted to conduct a minor investigation before tossing out a
defense or excuse such as that.

I ALWAYS KNEW ASSUMPTIONS SHOULD NOT BE MADE AND HERE WAS THE PROOF
WHEN I MET MY SON'S TEACHER (NO TIME FOR THE NEIGHBOR WHO LIVES DOWN
THE STREET).

She not only had three kids of her, she was older than me AND
SLIMMER, LEANER, and BEAUTIFUL! How embarrassed I was of my
assumptions but I was privately content I never raised those excuses
or deflections to my son. And I see what my son meant, even though I
had been envious about someone, I was terribly conscious of the
different picture the two of us made. That's when I decided I had to
take some action. And I was able to determine my son's teacher's
secret too.

And she is no longer just my son's teacher. She is my best friend as
well. Though at times I do wish I had met her earlier. But I am still
happy and grateful I met her when I did AND was able to LEARN THIS
SECRET AS WELL. Losing weight for a short duration and then gaining
back as much as twice of what I lost initially are all things of the
past! I can now live in peace with myself and my body (AND I CAN SEE
MY SON'S APPRECIATION AND GLOW BECAUSE OF THIS).

And of course though my husband is disappointed I lost all those
extra pounds, he is only too happy seeing my slimmer and shapely
figure and of course he has joined me in the weight-loss program as
well. And _I MUST SAY I HAVE NO ISSUES ABOUT HIM LOOSING HIS EXTRA
FAT._ In fact, I am happy and delighted that he is back to looking his
lean and mean self again. Especially because he thinks taking out the
garbage every other day is all the exercise he needs! Where he
conjured up that idea, I am not sure.

ANOTHER PROBLEM WITH ONE MEMBER OF THE FAMILY ON A DIET THAT WHILE
THE REST ARE ABLE TO EAT WHAT THEY WANT, THE AMOUNT OF COOKING AND
WORK INVOLVED INCREASES SIGNIFICANTLY.

Just because you are dieting you cannot put your kids through the
same process; they are growing children _(THIS DOES NOT MEAN THEY
SHOULD BE EATING TWINKIES FOR DINNER WHILE DOWNING SOME COCA COLA!_

Kids will be kids and will want to eat whatever catches their fancy.
Though I do keep a check on the amount of _junk_ food they eat. This
is not a democracy when it comes to that. But I simply can't ask them
to eat the bland food that I have to eat in the name of dieting!

AS FAR AS MY HUSBAND IS CONCERNED, any food that is edible is good
enough! So keeping a _strict control_ is quite impossible. This is not
North Korea. But letting everyone eat everything while I starve is not
an appealing either; or vice versa where everybody, including me, is
allowed to eat as much as they can more than once a day. How
complicated it all sounds! And believe me it is! But not after you
discover the secret.

It all becomes "SIMPLE" once you know the right method and for the
record, I am not starving myself.

I even tried eating six small portions per day but then I never
realized as the days progressed, my _SMALL_ portions soon became _BIG_
and I was still eating six times a day! Imagine the horror when the
scale tipped on the wrong side again! I really wanted to tear open the
person who actually suggested this diet!

The "DRINK PLENTY OF WATER" mantra is effective and I still follow it
diligently but that alone will never help you lose weight. Your body
will remain well hydrated which a good thing of course. But losing
weight while only drinking plenty of water is just another myth. Just
like eating only fruits and cereals will help you lose pounds. Again
fruits are healthy food and should be eaten as often as possible, _but
they don't help you reduce weight by any stretch_ - certainly not when
you mix in cookies, cakes, ice cream, French Fries, fast food, white
bread, and so on.

And I am sure you might have heard about other diets before and maybe
like me attempted everything (OR DOZENS OF DIFFERENT STRATEGIES). Some
may have worked too. But just like me, I am sure you found that all of
them only worked for a short duration. The ecstasy of losing a few
pounds is short-lived, but the agony of watching the pounds re-enter
your life remains in your consciousness forever or so it seemed like a
miracle when I found something that worked for me. And I am sure it
will work for anyone. I, and my son's teacher, are not that special.

YOU MUST BE WONDERING ABOUT ALL THOSE YUMMY MUMMIES, ACTRESSES, AND
SUPERMODELS, WHO DESPITE HAVING BABIES ARE BACK IN SHAPE IN NO TIME.

Well, the question has been nagging me too. And I read all their
interviews as well. There is no mention of any specific method or
product they have used, just the same inane and vague comments of
healthy eating and exercising. Well I don't need supermodels telling
me how to lose weight. I HAVE FOUND IT MYSELF!
