When you sign up for the course you will begin to receive emails on a regular basis, a bit like getting a magazine. Each email links to a lesson, where you will find
an audio introduction to the lesson
pages of clear instructions to print off and keep
video clips to show you exactly how it’s done
Just listen to the audio, print off the pages, watch the video and follow along. Each lesson builds on the one before, so you grow in confidence as you go along, and you will soon be amazed at how fast you are learning.
The important thing is to actually do the projects. The courses are very practical and you will learn by doing.

Because the course comes to you in regular instalments, you will find yourself wanting to paint along with each lesson and the excitement of learning will be kept up. What will I learn?
I’ll teach you just about anything you will need to know to become proficient in watercolor painting. Topics include how to mix colors, use brushwork creatively, design great looking paintings, work from photos and real life, how to sketch and draw, how to create textures, and much, much more. There are more than 300 pages of instructions, and 33 videos to show you how it’s done.
What materials and equipment will I need?
Don’t worry, you won’t need to buy lots and lots of stuff. I’ve tried to keep to a minimum amount of materials. There’s a complete list with Part 1 of the course.
For this course I recommend the following materials :
Paints: (buy artist quality paint if you can afford it)
two reds: cadmium red light and alizarin crimson
two blues: French ultramarine and cerulean blue
two yellows: cadmium yellow pale and lemon yellow
Two earth colours: yellow ochre (or raw sienna) and burnt sienna
Brushes: a no. 10 round, a no. 4 round, a 1cm (3/8”) flat and a no. 1 rigger
Paper: 300gsm (140lb) watercolour paper.

I have just recently discovered the Learn To Do Watercolor course. I am so excited by my progress after just a couple of lessons. Little details that others forgot to mention that have made all the difference in the world (learning to get some control over the paint itself for one). I have to tell you how much I enjoyed creating the colour charts. Although in my subconscious mind, I was aware that the primary colors had potential to create other vibrant colors, but after having done this exercise, I was truly amazed. Now I constantly refer to the chart to mix even better hues. The eight square boxes is another excellent exercise. I couldn't get the colors right each time, but I could see improvement in each box as I went along. Thanks again for creating such a wonderful course.
