Door-to-Door Business (How to get 4-5 cars per business)
Approaching local business is a great way to get more than one rock chip an hour. Once again this is all a simple sales game. When you know what to say you will have the confidence and people will trust you. Once you have trust it will be easy to service a whole office building in 1 afternoon. Image filling your mornings with different local businesses, repairing a solid 3 or 4 chips in the morning, then having the know how to go out and get 6 to 10 more in the evening on the doors. At one point we had over 20 different business parks we rotated to each morning, servicing their employees once a month.
Businesses always welcome services that can be done while there employees are at work. Tent Set-Up
This is definitely a favorite of many people, unfortunately not very many people get it right. Paying too much for rent, properly staffing and monitoring the location get a lot of people so frustrated they quit. Setting up a tent involves getting a canopy or small mobile tent and drawing in business through signage. I’ve had plenty of people finish their college education while working at their own tent. Most days I sat in the shade, waited for the car to drive up, and made $300 to $400 in a day.
The hardest part of tent set up is working with the owners of the land you want to use. Additionally, tent set up requires you to work with your local municipalities to acquire proper permits and certifications. With 4 in 10 cars having a rock chip they will be happy to see you. I’ve spent years doing door to door sales and have a detailed script that will give you all the confidence you need to get the job done. That’s right we will tell you word for word what to say and send you DVD’s with trainings on exactly how to say it.
It includes the most crucial part which is how to transition from the door to fixing the rock chip. The best example of this is a man I trained named Kenny. After going through this training he was able to get 4 different cars fixed in one hour. That was $200 that hour.
Here’s the truth…When you see advertising for rock chip to make $100+ an hour what this means is you are at least fixing 2 separate windshields an hour. This is almost impossible with the traditional way the industry does business. They set appointments, work referrals and wait next to the phone. Those all sound good, but they are WAY too time consuming and offer nothing in the way of taking your income into your own hands. We show you how.
An Example of the Old Way: You get a phone call and they want a rock chip. You say great and set an appointment. You then drive in your car 10-20 min and find their house. To be polite you greet them and start the 20 min rock chip process. Then unless you have another appointment close you drive to the next or back home. Total time spent was 60 min. And many people charge cash because they have no clue how easy it is to sell an insurance job. So 60 min for one rock chip of $30 cash…. YIKES!! No Thanks!
