I couldn’t believe that we saved over $30,000 on our new swimming pool! Sometimes it still feels like a dream even though we swam in the pool all weekend long. It all started awhile back when the family took an awesome vacation to South Carolina. We rented an amazing home with a fabulous swimming pool. The home was just blocks from the beach but we spend all day and night just hanging out by the pool! This made us want a pool bad.
My name is Ashley Bannon. Several months ago my husband, Mike, and I set out to build our first new swimming pool at our home. Neither of us had any major construction experience. We had some home improvement experience, and Mike worked a construction job in the past. But neither of us had even thought about building a pool. We didn’t even know where to begin. So far, not so good. Then we began looking for books that would guide us step by step through the pool building process. Results? We couldn’t find any. Not a single one that was informative enough to actually step us through the right was to build a Vinyl Liner Pool.
We then asked our kit manufacturer if he had information on how to build the new pool from the kit. Negative. The just brushed us off and said the we might want to contact a pool company to build it for us. Yeah right! Local pool contractors wanted nothing to do with that. They wanted to sell us the whole pool at a price as high as $56,000. Finally, we went to our friends. They thought we were crazy for even thinking of building a new pool on our own! Well, what are friends for?
