SHARKTANK ADVICE FOR ENTREPRENEURS AND SHARKS
by Adrian Childers on April 10, 2011
Tips for entrepreneurs:
-Be honest
-Convince the investor you are the best bet for him to place his
money
-Be selective
-Don't let the sharks back you into a wall. If your gut tells you
don't take the deal, by no means take the deal. These are your ideas
you have been working on and you are the one's putting in the elbow
grease to make your ideas work. An investor worth partnering with
won't want you to accept a deal you aren't comfortable with.
Tips for sharks:
-Raise your own funds and start making some real money.
One of the great advantages of living in New York is that this is one
of the best cities in the world to match investors with startup
companies. There are many organizations dedicated to doing just this
and one of the most recent groups I
HOW TO MAKE BIG MONEY WITHOUT TELEVISION NETWORKS
by Adrian Childers on March 16, 2011
If there are two words Americans wish they never have to hear again
they are "Charlie Sheen" and his latest news. It's amazing how
celebrity gossip can steal the media headlines, especially at a time
when real things are happening around the world such as the tsunamis
in Japan and uprisings in the Middle East.
There is one very real and practical lesson to be learned, however
following the Sheen fiasco which is In 2011 if you have a loyal
following you can monetize content yourself rather than relying on
big TV networks to pay you a salary. As Sheen takes to his twitter
account,
CREATING A PROFITABLE JOURNALISM INDUSTRY IN A DIGITAL AGE
by Adrian Childers on February 16, 2011
's acquisition of the at Superbowl XLV gave Tim Armstrong and Arianna
Huffington a reason to celebrate even if they aren't Packers fans.
As newspapers around the country are crumbling they are part of a
very small few who have found a way of making journalism in a digital
age financially sustainable. The most interesting thing about the
acquisition of the Huffington Post isn't that the blog was sold for
$315 million, or even that it
NICHE SOCIAL NETWORKS IN A FACEBOOK ERA
by Adrian Childers on January 26, 2011
The other night while watching an old episode of the Colbert Report,
Stephen's guest at the end of the show was Facebook Co-founder, Chris
Hughes. Chris was promoting his new social networking site, which
helps users find and follow the stories of organizations, such as
charities and NGO's that are making the world a better place.
At one point during the interview Stephen asked him, how his social
network is different from Facebook. Chris's answer was brief because
Stephen didn't give him much time to answer, but
HOW TO KEEP YOUR NEW YEAR RESOLUTIONS
by Adrian Childers on December 28, 2010
It’s the end of another year and this is the time when we all look
back at our achievements for 2010 and begin to think of new year
resolutions for 2011. Promises to yourself seem to be the hardest
ones to keep because you are the only one who suffers the consequences
and no one else will be disappointed, angry of even care if you
don’t see them through. Since promises to ourselves are the most
important to keep I wanted to share what I’m doing to

GREAT WEB DESIGN OR VALUABLE CONTENT: WHICH IS MORE IMPORTANT
by Adrian Childers on November 11, 2010
So the whole reason you have your website is to get as many readers
to your page as possible, engage with them, sign people up to your
newsletter and become a rockstar in your niche so you can make
millions selling whatever it is you sell. You want people to comment
on your posts and have people share the content you worked so hard to
put up. Over the years there has been a debate about whether DESIGN

25TH BIRTHDAY BASH IN NEW YORK'S LOWER EAST SIDE
by Adrian Childers on October 22, 2010
So previous to my 25th Birthday celebration on Saturday 16 October,
2010, (actual birthday 12 October) I really wasn’t one to make a big
deal about birthdays. Typical birthdays in the past would be a small
dinner with only immediate family members and two or three close
friends. This year I kicked it up a couple notches since there was
much to celebrate having just moved to a new city a few months ago,
moving into a new apartment in the Lower East Side a couple weeks ago,
and my brother, Andrew and good
"THE SOCIAL NETWORK" REVIEW AND LESSONS LEARNED [VIDEO]
by Adrian Childers on October 7, 2010
As soon as I saw the first advertisement for “The Social
Network”, I knew I would watch it within the first week it came
out. The movie, written by Aaron Sorkin is based from the book
“Accidental Billionaires”, by Ben Mezrich.
Neither Mark Zuckerberg or any Facebook employees were in any way
involved in the making of the movie. In fact Mark didn’t want the
movie to be produced at all. He even tried
