We've known about child sexual abuse for many years, but statistics are hard to obtain because most cases are never reported. Nevertheless, studies consistently show that an alarming number of children are sexually abused.

Conservative estimates suggest that at least 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 6 boys are sexually assaulted by the time they are 18. (See Kinsey 1953, Finkelhor 1979)
10% of victims are pre-schoolers. (Children's Hospital DC)
50% of assaults take place in the home of either the child or the offender. (Sanford 1980)
30% of victims come from stable, intact families. (B.C. Institute against Family Violence 2001 p.3)
It's estimated there are 60 million survivors of childhood sexual abuse living in the United States. (Forward 1993)
CHAINBREAKERS
are women who have survived childhood sexual abuse. They are committed to healing, to reaching out to each other, and to inviting the Savior into their lives.
CHAINBREAKER STORIES
is a compilation of stories of women who have survived childhood sexual abuse.
Further, Chainbreaker Stories tell of LDS women who have broken the chains of sexual abuse in their lives and moved on to live happy, fulfilling lives. These are women who have discovered the importance of inviting the Savior into their hearts, and the difference His love can make to the healing process.
They have stumbled and fallen, but always picked themselves up again to continue their journey to wholeness.
They have risen above extraordinary challenges and dealt with heartbreaking trials. Their faith has triumphed over their fears.
Allow their stories to inspire and uplift you as you make your own journey to healing, or hold the hand of a loved one who must make that journey
