HELLO -
I'd like to tell you a personal story that could help you change
your life.
It was just before Christmas and I was scared...scared that my young
son wouldn't be having the kind of Christmas that I had scrimped and
saved for all year long.
I had just taken most of my savings and loaned it to my two oldest
sons to help them move into a new home just after Thanksgiving.
So, here I was 3 1/2 weeks before Christmas wondering what I could
do to get at least a little money together, when my phone rang.
SECRET SHOPPING SAVED THE DAY!
It was Rebecca, from a secret shopping company that I had submitted
an online application to a month before.
She wanted to know if I was interested in completing an assignment
for her that would pay about $200. She explained that a bank in my
state hired her company to have a shopper go into 10 of their offices
within 30 minutes of my home and pretend to open an account with them
and then rate their customer service.
She said that each visit would take about 20 minutes and that the
forms I had to fill out would take about 15 minutes to complete. All I
had to do then was fax them to her.
Oh, and she said they would pay for my mileage AND send me $75 in
advance in counter checks. (I had to take these in and cash them at a
window and then rate that teller on customer service and bank policy
knowledge.)
When I picked my jaw up off the floor I said, "I'd love to do that
shop for you."
MY WISH CAME TRUE
Within 48 hours I had all the forms and my $75 in counter checks.
Needless to say, I completed my assignment in three days, cashing
the counter checks at three different branches and getting information
about opening accounts at all ten.
I had to log my mileage from start to finish and keep mental notes
of the names of tellers and customer service representatives that I
dealt with. I had to remember the way the bank looked inside and out,
the wait time I had in the teller line and in new accounts and finally
I had to rate their overall customer service. So I didn't forget
anything, after each visit I simply drove to a different parking lot
out of site of the branch and filled out the required forms.
One day, my son even went with me and we had lunch together at a
pizza place near one of the branches. You see I had gotten a request
the day after Rebecca called me in an email from a different company I
had applied to asking if I'd like to get paid to go eat lunch with a
guest of my choice. Of course I said yes.
When I submitted all my assignments I had to send a simple invoice
along with it listing my mileage and the amount they agreed to pay me
per visit, minus the $75 in advance.
My invoice was for $217. Two days before Christmas I got a check in
the mail for $245 from the company. They paid me a small bonus for
completing the forms so quickly.
