make a Dvd out of Nanny Reilly. Their ages are 11,8 and 5, and were
thrilled with the audio and each night have swapped cd's so each could
listen to the story, so I thought I'd better buy the cd of the first
book and a hard cover as we only had the paper back. My Dad grew up at
Royal Belfast Golf Club with his family and my Dad's twin brother has
been writing to me and telling irish tales as he remembers for the

Think back to when you were a child reluctant to go to bed when the
big hand hit the hour. You certainly weren't ready to suddenly unwind
and sleep. Then you had the promise of a bedtime story. Do you
remember what it felt like? For me it made going to bed and getting
tucked in for a story exciting. I wound down gradually and was
contented to close my eyes and relive the tale in my dreams. Now I
have an opportunity to share with children everywhere, old fashioned
heartwarming fairytales from the old world we once knew.
My stories were inspired by my own childhood adventures in Coolrainy,
Curracloe, Ireland. The places mentioned in my fairytales are as
enchanting as the stories themselves. Click on Coolrainy and see for

We fished for rocheens at Magandy's pond. A simple little pond in the
heart of a green meadow of trees and wonder. We rode ponies on a white
sandy beach in a seven mile cove, all encompassed by green grassy
dunes, with a thick forest at one end and mystic cliffs at the other
end. We picked blackberries in Katie's field directly behind our mud
walled cottage, and cockles at Ravens Point where the forest meets the
ocean, We picked mushrooms from Neville's fields under the watchful
eyes of Tom the plough horse. We believed in leprechauns, the tooth
fairy and Santa Claus. Needless to say, we scraped our knees more
times than we can remember.
I had an amazing childhood. I'm sharing what I had with you, and you
are going to love it. I intend my stories to give you many, many hours
of exciting reading and listening. I hope my children's trilogy, stirs
a sense of magic in you, as it did in me. Nanny Reilly is in all of
us, it matters not if you are middle school or old school. My younger
readers will get a taste for adventure, and my old school readers will
remember what it was like, and live it all over again.
May we all stay young at heart for as long as we live.

conclusion,
I certainly hope you enjoy Nanny Reilly and The Rescueteers as much as
I enjoyed writing them.
I have to say, even though I'm all grown up now at 51, stepping back
into the mind of a nine year old is a heartwarming experience.
As I wrote and recorded my stories, remembering what things felt like
seemed to take over so easily. I had bedtime stories and camping tales
in my mind for the kids, it just seemed exciting to me to get tucked
in for a good old fashioned story, whether it's a stormy night at home
or a tent out under the stars.
I'm convinced I'll never let go of my Huckleberry Finn type childhood
in Ireland in the late sixties and early seventies. I will keep on
keeping on with my stories.
My third adventure of the series, The Rescueteers and the Magic
Spinning Wheel, will be launched at the Irish Fair in Butte, Montana,
August 12th to 14th, 2011. Perhaps I will see you there.
