A MESSAGE FOR CASUAL MAGIC PLAYERS EVERYWHERE...

"HOW THESE MAGIC PLAYERS BECAME LIVING LEGENDS IN THEIR
PLAYGROUPS...PRACTICALLY OVERNIGHT!"

Please read on for a free tip_ that will CHANGE THE WHOLE WAY YOU
THINK ABOUT BUILDING MAGIC DECKS_ if you are:

* New to Magic: The Gathering
* A seasoned Magic player who is interested in learning new
tips/tricks or skills to master the art of deckbuilding
* Want to win more games and have more fun in your playgroup without
selling out to the "net deck" mentality

_Note: If you are a serious player who has no interest in casual deck
building and you have the most expensive and elite decks available,
our advice is probably not for you. Thank you for stopping by, and
good luck in your competitions!_

But for the rest of us...

Whether you are new to the game or have been building decks for
years, you understand how annoying it can sometimes be to build a new
deck and make it good!

Have you ever run into these problems when you're building a new
deck?

* You spend all the time looking up an amazing deck that sounds fun
to play, add all the cards to your shopping cart, then you look at the
final price200 bucks!

* You spend so much time and money on a new deck that sounds
fun...only to realize that it's terrible.

I know this has happened to me too many times to recall.

It's embarassing and frustrating. I had no idea...but if I had just
known ONE OF THE KEY ELEMENTS TO BUILDING ANY GREAT MAGIC DECK I could
have saved so much time, money and shame.

Many players make this crucial mistake that you may have fallen
victim to...

They assume that to be a _better_ player, you have to lose the casual
feel that your decks always had before...

That you have to "grow up" and start shelling out _hundreds_ of
dollars on "net decks" and bomb rares just to keep up with other
players around you.

We all know these guys from the local card shop.

These players think that Magic can't be FUN anymore. They come in
each with having spent another couple hundred bucks on cards, only to
wear a stern look on their face the whole time they play...

As though they aren't even enjoying this GAME that was built to be
social, to be exciting, to be competitive and still have plenty of
room to be an absolute blast to play.

You might be this person...and not even realize it!

In every playgroup there are one or two players who just don't get
it...even if they're the nicest people in the world, their decks
are...lacking.

When playing multiplayer games and you get put on someone's team,
they could very well be rolling their eyes at the other players behind
your back, thinking "oh jeez, we're going to lose for sure..."

But this couldn't be you and your decks....could it?

I know, I know...I certainly never thought that this person could be
me either...until a very good friend of mine took me aside one day...

"Brad" he said, "We should work on some of your decks...see if we can
tune them up a bit."

To be honest, I was a little offended.

I knew what he was trying to say, though he was too nice to say it
outright...

My decks were TERRIBLE...

and nobody was excited to have me on their team.

I struggled with accepting this.

At first I got angry and indignant...until I took some time to think
about it and realize that I wasn't actually trying to get better, I
was just jamming cards into decks that didn't even work well together.

I know it can be hard to accept it if you've been playing with the
same decks for a long time, but trust me...once I started learning
some of the secrets to deckbuilding, my eyes were opened to a whole
new world...and suddenly Magic was exciting every single game and I
quickly became AN ASSET to every team that I joined!

I could see my friends _excited_ to play alongside my new decks, and
one very fun (ie not "broken) deck in particular, involving one of my
favorite cards *Sneak Attack* even became something of a "legend" at
my local card shop.

I started _hearing groans_ whenever I showed up to their casual
nights and they got matched up against me and my Sneak Attack deck ;)

You'll never be as good as them...

There are some people who are naturally wired to understand Magic by
the numbers - and they have a distinct advantage over players like me
who still imagine a battlefield filled with mystical creatures locked
in combat.

If you're not mathemetically or strategically inclined naturally, you
will get walked all over by these types of players and trust me - it
isn't fun.

I would get bummed out and think that I would just never be that good
at Magic until I found a secret.

The secret I realized that very few have...is that _anybody_ can
practically be a master of building Magic decks IF you have the right
knowledge at your fingertips.

It _doesn't_ take some innate ability - all it takes is some very
specific information and some effective changes in how you think about
the cards you're using and how they work together.

Until you learn these techniqes, you will never be as good as those
players who are naturally "good" at Magic...and they will take
advantage of that!

I'm going to give you a Secret Weapon that will instantly help you to
start making rock-solid casual decks...this will change the way you
make decks forever!

And this is...the "decklist checklist". We developed this quick
method of putting together an awesome deck over a few years of trying
what worked - and what didn't.

These are the crucial steps to building a deck that is going to be
fun, easy to build, and will win you more games!

This is a system you can replicate time after time to craft brilliant
decks.

The Deck has a central theme

The Deck is focused primarily into one of the 3 main types - aggro,
combo or control

I have enough lands for the deck I want to play -18 to 22 for
aggro, 24-28 for control, or approx. 15 for combo

If the deck is multicolor, I have identified the colors and
support all colors, beginning with the most used one

I have included nonbasic lands to help stream-line my manabase for
a multicolor deck

I have selected creatures that I want to include in my deck, and
they support the type of deck I'm building

Aggro deck - the creatures are relatively powerful and low cost.

Control deck - the creatures are versatile and have controlling
abilities

Combo deck - the creatures are a part of or help make the combo
work

My creatures are affordable and can be played before I lose the
game

I have selected noncreature spells that are focused towrads the goal
of my deck.

_-Aggro: Rancor -Control: Counterspell -Combo: Dark Ritual_

I have included creatures or spells that serve as removal and/or
help my deck get around obstacles.

_Viridian Shaman, Oblivion Ring, etc._

I have included cards that will help me get around other players'
decks within my play group

If my deck needs it, it has draw power or a way to get more cards

My spells are playable and my mana base supports them

My cards fit the mana curve for the type of the deck, and are not
all the same cost

There are 60 or as close to 60 cards in this deck as possible

I have tested my deck and it has shown consistency

This list, once you fully understand every one of the checklist
items, can change your Magic success overnight...

Don't let this happen to you

You just drew in a deep breath and clicked "buy". Your finger's been
hovering over the page you've been saving, opening, then closing for
days now.

You're finally committed to making this deck idea that's been rolling
around in your head into a realitythe website says all your cards
should be here in a couple days

At last! The UPS guy drops off a packageyou excitedly tear it open
and insidethe shiny plastic that's holding together your new
obsessionyour new source of joy.

You peel away the protectors and find every card that was on the list
now sitting in your handsthe artwork is movingeach spell is joined by
its duplicatesand let me tell you, it is a beautiful sight.

This is the onethis deck is going to be crazy fun to playand your
friends are going to be blown away! Images of grand battles, shocked
looks on other players' faces, and thrilling victories start swimming
around in your mind.

After slowly flicking through the cardssmelling that faint and
familiar aroma of fading inkyou're finally ready to make the deck
official.

Over under the bed is a giant box filled with forests, swamps,
islands, plains and mountainsyou've been building this collection for
quite some time nowyou shuffle through and find the shinest, coolest
looking lands you cancount out an appropriate amount, and head back to
the new addition to your arsenal.

Lands go inthen you shuffle and start playing your first "test hand".
Ok, lands are thereeverything's playing out just finebut you know the
real test comes later

You call up your friends, "hey, let's get together to play some
Magic". "Sure" they say"how about tomorrow?" No way! Tomorrow isn't
soon enoughwe've got to get together tonight!

"Alright, alright" say your friendstime to meet up and really get to
experience this thing you put so much time and thought into!

Everyone's shuffling for the first gameyou draw your first hand

Hmm.

Let me try againfree mulligan?

Ok.

Shuffling againyou draw your 2nd hand. Ok, sweet! Two lands, good to
go. You play your first land, and pass the turn.

3 turns lateryou're staring at all the cards you've been pining over
for weeksand they are sitting in your handall of their awesomeness is
irrelevant, because your mana isn't catching up to their cost.

Ok, so one loss isn't a big dealit is a new deck, after all

3 games lateryou've only gotten to play the cards you were so excited
about a handful of timesand none of them have mattered!

This deck just doesn't seem to be working! How is it possible? It all
seemed so great in your headyou start running through all the possible
changes you can make to fix the deckbut you already spent all this
money

It's painful to admit itbut your new deck is TERRIBLE. It's
embarrassing and now you'd rather just forget it.

You had no ideabut you were making one of the key mistakes that most
deckbuilders fall victim to.

With just a few slight adjustments and a couple differences in how
you built the deck, you could have been winning plenty of games,
having perfect land distribution, and actually getting to play the
awesome cards you spent all your hard-earned money on!

_Now if you take just a moment to picture the alternative_and keep in
mind that we are all capable of this success!

You click the buy buttonthe deck arrivesyour friends gather to play
some casual games, and the very first game nets you a victory!

The mana distribution is greatyour new fatties are hitting the table
in proper succession, you've got answers to threatsit holds up well
against all the opposing forces at the tablethis is exactly how you
imagined the deck when you started building it in your mind!

Instead of having an embarrassing deck that gets shoved into the
corner of a cardboard box somewhere never to be heard from again, you
now have a SECRET WEAPON on your hands.

This new addition to your arsenal is reliable, it's powerful,
completely unique and holds up in the casual arena as well as
competitive play.

You can't help but feel a surge of pride give yourself a pat on the
back! You don't have to be a math wiz or someone who devotes their
life to Magic to build an amazing deck.

You built one that nobody's seenoriginal, diverse, and most of all,
it's a BLAST to play.

Every turn brings excitement as you get to see how the deck holds up
against all the various players, decks and play-styles you will
encounter.

This is why we all got into the game!

Every deck you play can be this good

Once you are armed with the correct information. That's why we put
our minds together and put together the lessons we've learned after
years of casual and competitive play...something to level the playing
field against the so-called "geniuses" of Magic.

This is for normal folks who just want to have a great time playing,
and build really cool and fun decks every time.

Introducing...

The Casual Planeswalker's

Ultimate Guide to Deckbuilding

The culmination of years of studying, testing, and playing with all
types of opponents. THIS WAS MADE FOR YOU, the casual player.

We're just normal guys who want to help other people enjoy the game
as much as we do!

After spending several years playing mediocre decks and not even
realizing it, I started to want a change. I got tired of losing, of
dragging down my teammates, and generally being dissatisfied with the
decks I was making.

I hit my head against the wall for a while...

Until I talked with Nick and Josh and we decided we were going to
figure out what made decks good, what made some players better than
others, and what we could do to make the most of our time playing the
game we all loved.

It took a lot of time and work, but as we traveleed on our journey of
discovery we had a collection of secrets to Magic that would change
how we all thought about the game forever...

When our friends noticed the difference in how many games we were
winning, they started literally _begging_ to learn all the stuff we
had been used to change our decks from average to awesome.

That's where the idea of The Casual Planeswalker was born, and we
basically had to create the Ultimate Guide to Deckbuilding...for us,
for them...and now we're proud to be able to share it with you.

It's a Game-Changer

We buckled down and focused on ALL THE MOST IMPORTANT ASPECTS TO DECK
BUILDING that we knew would change how you build your decks and how
you play them.

We focused on making them fun, effective, successful and tried to
avoid the concept of just spending tons of money on net decks. Here's
what we decided to cover:
