So on with my story of how I did it....
My name is Andy Slater. I am just an ordinary guy. My friends call me a geek and have a good laugh about it.
But ... for me, being a geek has paid off.
Like those guys that start web companies and make serious money: everyone laughed at them at school.... but now who’s laughing!
The reason everyone one calls me a Geek is I’m a bad dresser, wear glasses and am very intelligent.
Excuse my immodesty... but I have used this intelligence wisely.
Just over a year ago a friend told me about Forex. He said it is where people are making serious money from trading the currency markets. Back then I didn’t know anything about it.
I started to read about it and my thirst for knowledge on forex consumed me.
The more I read the more I heard and learnt about Expert Advisors, software that automated the process of trading.
To me – this seemed like a great idea.
I went out and bought most forex robots that came out.
Needless to say I was pretty disappointed. None seemed to work for me. Even though all these gurus promised amazing profits... nothing worked and I didn’t make any money.
I was getting pretty down about trading at that point. About 1 year ago yet another robot hit the market.
I bought it. A few days later I read on the forums it turned out to be a complete scam!!
It was just a copy of another robot that was FREE on the forums!
Needless to say I got my refund.
Then I went to that forum and downloaded the free version (so I could access the .MQ4 file)
I looked at the code. I turned on my "Geek powers" and got to work (yes, I am a programmer too ;-)
It took me hours and hours and hours.... but as a C# programmer I quickly adapted to the MQL (Metaquotes Language) that these robots use.
I completely overhauled the “scam” robot.
I took it to pieces and figured out exactly how it worked and how I could make it better.
It took me a long time.. but I was finally convinced that I had turned a complete scam robot into a real profit machine.
Did you know that this robot wasn’t even designed to make money!
The code was terrible. I can see now that the sellers had NO idea about trading... just good marketers.
I changed all that!
So cut a long story short (about coding and testing and optimising and recoding....):
I am very excited to introduce my creation....
On the 7th August 2009 I put my money on the line.
I deposited $8,500 of my own savings into an MT4 trading account with my broker.
This was the first time I was going to trade live. I was scared!
I set Forex Geek on EURUSD and let it do its thing!
That was 1 year ago.
Today... my account is now at $103,537
Since the 7th August 2009, in the last year:
I made $95,137 trading EURUSD on Autopilot
I quit my day job and started "working" from home
I spend a lot of my time playing golf
I didn’t TOUCH the trading account – I just let the robot do its "thing"
I have just stopped trading that account and am about to withdraw my 95k profit and start from scratch again...
