Did you hear about Max and Aggie?
You didn’t? Not possible! You say you never heard of them?
Then please allow me to introduce them to you:
Maximilian and Agatha, the dog and cat enchanters, the bravest cat and dog that ever lived in Fairyland, the canine and feline experts on all things Magic.
Now, if anyone tells you that dogs and cats cannot be magicians, well, that is simply not true.
And here is the tale to prove it: their fame, their exploits, their awards,
their travels around the world and into the Land of the Runaway Rivers.
Not to mention their battles with a notorious and evil dark magician, the mortal enemy of their beloved teacher and master.
But don’t just take my word for it. Here are some experts who agree:
“I love your story!”
Sophia, age 8
3rd Grade
“This was really good. I like when
the cat and dog are hiding under
the couch in the bad guy’s house.”
Jesse, age 9
4th grade
“I like the part where the enchanter
found the guy in the forest and because
he couldn’t take care of the cat and dog, the enchanter took them to live with him.”
Casey, age 6
1st Grade
Would you like to read a bit about these exceptional animals? Well, I just happen to have an excerpt from Chapter 3:
The Smartest Cat and Dog In The Whole World
Once he had led the animals safely home, the enchanter resolved to make them the most wonderful animals that had ever been seen in the whole wide world, whether in Fairyland or out of it. Being an enchanter, he could, of course, do this more easily
than other people.
So he taught the cat and the dog all the known languages, then history, arithmetic,
dancing, social deportment, and a variety of
the best magic and spells. And because he was
a magician, he of course knew their names.
Maximilian was the dog and Agatha the
cat.
Aggie (as the cat liked to be called), as was to
be expected, was particularly good on anything that had 'cat' in it; she once catalogued all the principal catastrophes; while Max the dog, although a good student, had a fancy for writing doggerel.
Many and many a time, when the enchanter and his wonderful animals were seated in their armchairs round a blazing fire, talking exactly as any three good friends might talk, a nose would flatten itself against the panes, and the three companions would see looking in at them some stranger whose curiosity had got the better of his manners.

“I like on page 14 how you described
their walk down the stairs. I also like
on page 25 how it said ‘grew cold with
fear to the tip of his yellow tail.’ I liked
the story a lot!”
Ben, age 12
6th Grade
There is great vocab!”
Nicholas, age 11
6th Grade
“And a lot of vocab! I know I already said this but, YOUR STORY ROCKS!
I love it, it’s awesome!!!”
Alexandra, age 8
3rd Grade
“The story made me laugh! I loved the part where the evil enchanters turned into a cat and dog but their plan didn’t work out! I really liked the story. Good job!”
Nora, age 13
8th Grade
“I liked it because I never knew what would happen next.”
Henry, age 9
4th Grade
Not just the younger readers liked it. Here’s what one discerning parent had to say:
“I love the use of language because
it’s not dumbed down for kids. It uses
very rich language and metaphors.
It’s great to read your children books
with rich text.”
Cie, age 44
