This tool is called X-PRICE , acronym for Cross profession Project Risk Identification and Cost Estimates.   X-PRICE is a "Bid Management Tool" to assist sales in arriving at their preferred sales price based on computational of project expenditures, project risk, liabilities, contingencies, inflation charge and other user-defined provisions.

 Project Information

This worksheet hold master data that will be populated to the rest of the other worksheets. It has Syseneg International logo in the background for security reason, however the background will not appear on printout or when you do a print preview.  It is only displayed on screen. 

 

 Bid Summary

This worksheet allows you to define or make changes to Sales Price and List Price only.  The rest of the fields contain values derived from the other worksheets.  When you perform any changes to the data defined on other worksheets , the computed result will be reflected on this page. 

 

 

Target User:   This tool is targeted for Sales or anyone who is involved in preparation of a financial plan associated with a particular opportunity or bid.  In any sales situation you need to know three things:

1.  Sales Price - what is the ideal sales price that you want to quote to your prospective client

2.  Cost  -  what are the cost associated with the bid

3.  Profit - what is the gross margin that you expected to earn from the bid

 

Requirements

You need Microsoft Office installed in your personal computer.  This tool has been built using Microsoft Excel 2007 , it is a user-friendly tool with sufficient explanation as you roll your cursor over a field.   At the top left of the worksheet you will see a red marker that will pop up a text window to describe the purpose of this worksheet.  

 

Summary

A help text or comment will take you through each worksheet a step at a time. It is the most easiest tool for Sales, Presales, even Project Managers or anyone who is responsible for a particular sales opportunity, tender or a bid. 

Sales or Account Manager will love this tool simply because it makes the task of capturing the cost  behind a project so easy.  It automatically perform the consolidation and computation of the overall profitability (margin).  It helps you to easily make changes to your cost elements and view the profitability result instantly .  You will see a graphical representation of the overall cost distribution and easily identify the major cost drivers that are impacting your profitability.

Project Manager will be interested to know the cost allocated for the implementation of the project specifically cost attributed to labor, material, expenses, and licenses and also the risks that impact these primary expenditures.
