SOME GENERAL PROBLEMS ASSOCIATED WITH DIFFERENT TYPES OF BUILDINGS
AND WHEN THEY WERE BUILT.
One and two storey terrace type constructions built around 1980-1990
may have a problem with rising damp, rotting floors and timber,
sagging roofs, cracks due to subsidence or water build up, termite and
borer infestation.
_Small cottages, workman’s, or lower cost houses_ quite often
require new electrical wiring, new plumbing, re-roofing and extra
maintenance to the exterior.

brick walls – all seem to have an inherent problem of leaking

defects and concrete cancer.
Some _buildings constructed in the boom times_ have suffered from
ceramic tiles falling off and general finishes and painting not being
of a good standard because of the rush to build the next project.
