Hi There! My name is Aaron Lacey, and you are probably wondering why I have built this web site, and why your friend has asked you to check this out. I designed this website because I am very FRUSTRATED in many ways!!! I bet you and I even share some of the same frustrations.
Is it me, or does the media seem to show that all things “Bad†are bad and getting worse. I mean everything from the Economy, Poverty, and Drug / Alcohol abuse, to Domestic Violence, Teen Pregnancy and Crime all are reported to be getting worse, Right?
Even our schools seem to be letting us down. I know!!, because I have 4 kids who have struggled with our school systems. As I researched how to help my kids with their studies, I found out two things. First, populations that have high rates of illiteracy have higher rates of all the other social ills I mentioned. And Second, there are some amazing programs that totally handle illiteracy, but even more importantly, teach people, How to Learn.
I was amazed at how having this information has changed how I learn and study. I mean, come on, I have a B.S. degree, of course I know how to learn, well . . . actually I didn’t. I knew enough to do well in school, but I would have done 100% better if I knew then what I know now.
The way I see it, if more people knew how to read, study, and learn, the more able they would become. The more able, literate, and educated they are, the less social ills we would have, and the better things would be for everyone.
So, the question is , . . .
"How do we get this Information to as many People as Possible?"
Answer: . . . WE make it popular!!!
Going door to door trying to convince people to become more literate is not my idea of fun. Quite frankly, that is the job of Literacy Programs, Schools, and Churches.
My plan is to make learning exciting, and give money to these Literacy Programs, Schools, and Churches so that they can continue to do what they do best. To do that, I have written a book! . . . .(or at least am in the process.)
The game plan looks like this:
