My name is Rachel, and currently work from home as a health professional. Health is what I

See, at the young age of 9, I weighed 120 pounds. In 7th
grade, I weighed 250 pounds. In fact, here's a picture of me during the summer of 7th grade:

After I graduated high school, I decided to make a change. Like most dieters, I tried everything - low
calorie, starvation, the liquid fasts, ephedra, Atkins, South Beach...you name it, I've probably tried it.
I ended up losing 100 pounds. Here's a few current pictures:

During my "hectic dieting frenzy" , I learned that a lot of that stuff does work for the
short term.
The problem is, any time I went on one of those diets, I'd either gain the weight back... or get so sick of
the diet, that I'd get right back off of it.
Excuse my language, but it really SUCKS to stop eating the foods that you like, especially for a long time.
I mean... I'd be really good for a while, even up to a few months... but come ON, who can do that long term?
I remember going out to diners with my friends... they'd order hamburgers, french fries... whatever... and
I'd order the same godforsaken salad, every single time. I remember how I'd torture myself by smelling their french fries.
I Knew There Had To Be A Better Way!
Although I was really getting sick of the idea of dieting, I was even more
disgusted with being fat.
And you know... one thing that I've always prided myself on was
not taking "no" for an answer. I always knew something would work,
eventually.
In elementary school, I read a quote from Thomas Edison... it was something like... "I
didn't fail 1000 times, I just found 1000 ways that didn't work."
I wanted so desperately to believe that... so I tried. Really, really
hard.
In my quest to lose weight, I researched with a maniacal vengeance. I read books, bought products, was an
infomercial product junkie, I went on message boards, read magazines... I was downright obsessed with my weight for
a long time.
There were a few "huge discoveries" that I made during this time period.
First, I found that a lot of the more popular diets simply don't work. I mean... some of it was common
sense... for example, it was pretty obvious that the "cabbage soup diet" didn't have a lot of longevity.
And stuff like the Atkins diet... you always hear people talking about how bad it is, so that didn't
surprise me as much either.
But When I Found This Out... I Was Downright SHOCKED!
When I was asking friends for diet tips, everyone used to say the same boring thing... "Eat less and you'll
lose weight."
(That doesn't help when you want to lose weight NOW!)
But you know... it's really interesting. I actually found out that low calorie diets don't
work!!!
I know, you probably don't believe me. Don't worry, I wouldn't have believed me either.
You see, when I was researching, I talked with lots of people. Skinny people, nutritionists,
bodybuilders... everyone I could think of.
I learned about something called "starvation mode", and how the body adjusts to whatever you give to
it.
So - even if you normally eat 1600 calories a day, and you cut them down to 1200 - after a few days, your
body will just adjust accordingly. It will start to expect 1200 calories a day. If you eat for a few weeks at normal calorie counts
again, you'll gain the weight back faster than you can say "But I liked being skinny!"
It's nuts. Your metabolism adjusts to the 1200 calories too! I didn't realize this - but every time I was
going on a low calorie diet, I'd end up slowing down my metabolism for the time I was on the diet! No wonder why I always felt so
weak!
It Took Me A LONG Time... But I Found The Answer!
I finally found something that looked very promising. So promising, in fact, that I didn't believe
it.
The thing is... when I found it, I was at an all new height of disgust. I had tried SO many new
diets... so many things that were promising to get me skinny quickly, and none of them were working.
I started to just think that I was doomed to be fat. That it was my
genetics.
Something in me decided to try this out though... and boy, am I glad now. I can't imagine what
my life would have been like otherwise!
You won't believe this... but I found something that promised to help me lose 11 pounds every 13
days!
No, that's not a misprint...11 pounds every 13 days!
So I Decided To Try It Out!
Well, it wasn't THAT simple. I was still really disgusted by all of my other failures, and it did take me
a little bit of time to decide to try it.
Ultimately, I thought about Thomas Edison's quote, researched a little more, and went for
it.
Some things that I found in my research about this diet:

*It's one of the healthiest things that you can do for your body psychologically

You'll never lose weight by starving and skipping meals! This is a BIG MYTH. In fact, the
more you eat, the more of an opportunity your body has to lose weight!
When you starve yourself, your body goes into panic and holds on to as much fat as it can... thus
paralyzing your weight loss efforts.
You can't burn up your excess body fat by solely eating NONFAT or LOWFAT foods! You must SPEED
UP YOUR METABOLISM instead!

What I tried was called "shifting calories". Pretty much, it's nothing more than changing up the amount of
calories that you eat per day.
Like I said... for decades, people have been using "calorie shifting" in order to trick their body and
lose weight. For a number of reasons, though, this proven method is being applied by very few regular dieters.
But when people shift calories - and it's much easier than you might think - the weight loss
potential is MASSIVE!
