AZCollegePlanning presents Your student is an athlete, now what?

Do You Have The
Skills To Play
In College?

OR ARE YOU LIKE MOST HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETES, TOO BUSY WITH SCHOOL TEAM
AND/OR CLUB SPORTS, WORRYING ABOUT YOUR GRADES AND DEALING
WITH LIFE TO TRULY DISCOVER THE TRUTH ABOUT BEING RECRUITED?

How to get a sport scholarship, financial aid, be noticed by
college coaches and get recruited to play on a college team.

_W_here's the direction, the light at the end of the tunnel? How do
you get an athletic scholarship, get recruited and move ahead in an
ever more challenging college environment? The stark truth is:
_ATHLETIC TALENT IS NOT ENOUGH - YOUR STUDENT MUST SHOW WITHOUT A
SHADOW OF DOUBT, THEY HAVE THE ABILITY, DISPOSITION AND GRADES THAT
EVERY COACH IS LOOKING FOR REGARDLESS IF IT IS A DI, DII, DIII, NAIA
OR NJCAA SCHOOL. _

QUESTION: Can your attitude at a game make or break you at being
accepted into college and land a spot on the team.

ANSWER: Yes, even comments from parents on the sidelines may play a
roll in being recruited or not.

QUESTION: As the top athlete for my school (or club) do my grades
matter?

ANSWER: Duuh, Yes! If you don't have the grades, the recruiting
coach will not even look at you no matter how talented you are.

As the premier college-planning firm in Arizona, my clients have
asked me for information about how the entire college recruiting
process works. They thought that their talented athlete would be
discovered or the high school coach would direct them and tell college
coaches about them.

My wife and I have three kids who are athletes, so we were in the
same boat as you, expecting that my kid, who has tons of talent will
magically and miraculous be discovered by some top college and give my
child a full ride scholarship and we can just sit back and wait for
the game to be aired on our local TV station or ESPN. NOT GOING TO
HAPPEN!

Boy was I shocked and surprised to find out that the _average
athletic scholarship was a paltry $595_. Heck the cost of some
colleges is in excess of $50,000 for one year. (And I have three kids)
$595 was not going to even come close to covering the cost of
attendance even at a community college.

So what are we to do? First, GET OVER IT. Of the Millions of high
school athletes a smaller percentage actually goes to college and
becomes part of the college athletic program. And an even smaller
percentage goes pro. (Less than .1% from the total high school pool
turns pro.)

This is not for the one or two athletes that will be discovered
because they are constantly in the local paper, constantly winning
titles, constantly the best player in the state.

This is for the other 99.999% of our kids who love to play their
sport, are decent athletes and would like a good crack at it in
college.

Some very talented kids are heart broken and discourage that college
coaches have not called or emailed them back. Discover the best way
for college coaches to not only notice you but to get feedback back
while following the athletic rulings.
