_FAMILY HISTORY RESEARCH HELP FOR THE BEGINNER._
I've been researching my own British Isles family history for the
past five or so years now.
At first I concentrated on all the easy connections in my family
tree and put all the frustrating ones to one side. I continiously came
up against all sorts of pesky brickwalls; but because I didn't know
how to get past them, I missed out on a lot of leads that I would
otherwise have found and followed so much earlier on.
Eventually I decided that I needed to find out just how to get past
these barriers to my ancestor search and so I set out to learn more
about the subject of family history, so that I could become a better
researcher.
This site is about sharing with you what information I have gathered
and so I hope that I can be of a little help to those of you who, like
me a short while back, were floundering around on the Internet.
I make extensive use of the tools provided by genealogy websites in
my own research. Sometimes, however, you just need to know a trick or
two to get the best out of them.
