18-hole
golf course with fairways, rough, and greens, and then accessorized

real pins, flags, and, tee markers, and like _real _golf, has the
objective of
getting the ball into a real cup.
It is the perfect blend of true golf course design and golf rules
with the use of croquet mallets and balls as the instruments of play
to scale down the game to fit your yard.

An Important Note Upfront about Space
If your own yard has around 9,000 square feet of playable lawn, or
you have access to approximately that amount of space in a friend's
yard or a common space, you have the space it takes to set out a lawn
golf game as we describe it in this book.
You may already recognize that your lawn or other space is perfect
for the game. If you have a doubt, do a little figuring. You can
probably get enough playable lawn space on a
half-acre lot, minus the square footage for your house and other
non-grass features.
