TEACHING PHONICS RESOURCES FOR TEACHERS
_The Phonics Master_ was written to provide a phonics program to
students struggling with reading. This reading program would help
students learn sight-reading.
First of all, the program is a basic phonics reading program,
teaching the 44 basic sounds of the English language. Additionally,
the program is a multi-sensory program, as the student is taught the
phonics per writing. Through repetitiously writing the sounds, the
phonics are learned, as opposed to the recognition method, which is
based solely on rote.
Also, the program has a sight-reading component that helps students
grasp these skills. The program, through repetition of visual
practice, trains the eyes to grasp the text in phrases, as opposed to
the motor reading practice, that-is-word-for-word.
The program comes with noncommercial reprint rights. Therefore the
lessons may be reproduced for classroom use.
