"How do you spell TV?", "Do monkeys kiss?", "Why are my
boogers blue?", "Can I chew on a safety pin?", "Are you a
grandpa or an aunt?" Funny questions? You bet they are,
and who asked them? Kids in elementary schools! They
often ask me questions like these when I substitute
teach, and that's one of the things that make substitute
teaching so enjoyable. Everyday in school I tell kids that
I think substitute teaching is the most fun job in the
world, and I really believe that it is. It's never boring,
it's always challenging, and it's chockfull of surprises. Oh,
boy, is it ever! Plus, you get to make an impact on
children's lives. How cool is that?

When I was laid off, I began substitute teaching but I
only had one day of training. If I had read an informative
book like _SUBSTITUTE TEACHING: THE ABCS_, it would have
helped me immensely. This 80-page book takes readers
step-by-step through the typical school day, from arriving
at the school's bus-filled parking lot to checking out of
the office at the end of the day, and has everything that
a substitute teacher needs to know. Now that I've
subbed in 61 schools for 342 different teachers and over
10 [1],0 [2]00 [3] kids [4], I believe I can teach you how to be a
successful SUBSTITUTE TEACHER.
There are plenty of jobs and career opportunities in
America's booming economy. You can choose to work in the medical
field, aerospace industry,
pharmaceutical business, service industry, and entertainment. Should
you choose to work at home you can be a medical transcriptionist which
is a
job skill high in demand. It's one of the few fields where you do not
need a college diploma or education. Many people, especially women,
prefer to
work at home. There is no need for expensive clothing, haircuts,
makeup, or getting out of the house in bad weather. Some people prefer
to work in
the comfort of their own home so they can look after their kids,
should they have children in the home. With the high price of gas,
home workers
save money, and wear and tear on their car.
