After having searched for God for such a long time and in so many places, I feel I have finally found God. After God had been so elusive to me, as if hiding from me, I feel I have finally discovered God’s hideout. Through doing spiritual practices, reading spiritual texts, and receiving spiritual guidance, God could no longer conceal Himself from me. In reality, God was not hidden from me at all. I discovered that God is standing right in front me, resting inside my mind, dwelling in my heart. I’ve got you cornered, God. The jig is up!
I can’t really say when exactly I started searching for God or when I discovered God. I think the search slowly crept up on me because somewhere deep inside me I wanted to know the truth about who I truly am. I started asking question. I wanted to feel fulfilled and be satisfied. I looked for a direct contact with my own true nature. It was not a conscious decision and I didn’t know where my spiritual journey will lead.
The discovery, too, dawned on me, like a slow and steady sunrise. But I know that, unlike the search, the discovery was brought about consciously, by doing spiritual practices and reading and studying spiritual writings and sacred scriptures on a regular basis.
This discovery is still taking place. The sun is still rising. Every moment is a time for discovery and everywhere is a place to reveal our true divine nature. Actually, our spiritual journey is an ongoing process of self-discovery. The search and discovery of God is the search and discovery of our self.
Actually, it is God that, through immense compassion and generous grace, chose to be revealed. To be more precise, it is God that has discovered me. Why is “The Jig Is Up, God!” called an “e-ffortbook”?
As you may already know, in order for our spiritual journey to bear fruit we require two ingredients: grace and effort. One supports and sustains the other.
Grace is the divine generosity with which we have already been blessed. Our souls have been blessed with the ability to tell the difference between what brings us closer to and what takes us farther from understanding, knowing and ultimately realizing our own divine nature. It is grace that also makes us decide to make the necessary effort to bring more grace into our lives.
Effort is what we bring into our own spiritual journey. When we do spiritual practices, such as meditation, singing the glory of God, selflessly serving causes for improving our world, giving and sharing, and keeping graceful company, we generate a power that helps us to know our divine nature. This knowledge acts as a channel for receiving even more grace. Effort is its own reward.
Contemplation is another very important spiritual practice that greatly helps us on our spiritual journey.

My contemplation: Usually, the definition of God is associated with infinite choices, infinite possibilities. Then what is meant by “God has no choice”? Where there is God, there is God and nothing but God. Also, God does not have any choice but to be God. My insight: In view of the principle “God is Love,” God has no choice but to love. My contemplation: When people speak to one another it seems as though several different voices speak from several different bodies. In fact, only one voice speaks from one body. Creating a symphony of sounds, God’s voice speaks from God’s body. In all conversations, God is speaking to himself. My insight: As long as there is even one conversation taking place somewhere in the world, I am actually talking to myself. Example Statement 3: All languages are synonymous
My contemplation: This statement is related to the previous example statement. Each language seems to be a separate system of words and meanings. However, all what seem to be separate languages are actually one language – a language that some of us do not understand all its words and meanings. In this spiritual context, it is not that some words have synonyms in a certain system of words and meanings, but that each meaning of a word is synonymous to other words in the single system of the only one language that really exists – the one spoken by All, by God.
My insight:There is really only one language – God’s language – Love.
The example statements given above exemplify one way to record your contemplations and insights. A simple contemplation exercise – the human body as metaphor for God
The human body as a metaphor for God can make it easier to understand the nature of the soul in its relation to God. Let’s take a quick moment to do a simple contemplation exercise. When you want to let someone know that it is you who did or said something, you usually point to your chest and say “Me.” So, pointing to one part of your body lets it be known that you actually mean your entire body. Pointing to your chest as if saying “Me” is a symbolic gesture. This gesture comes naturally to us, since the heart of our soul is located in the center of our chest. Now point with your finger to any other part of your body. For instance, you can point to your big toe. Depending on your point of view, you can either consider that you are simply pointing to your big toe or that you are pointing to your entire body. Since, just like your chest, your big toe is a part of your body, then pointing to your big toe means that you are pointing to your entire body. Within the spiritual context, pointing to yourself means that you are actually pointing to God. Moreover, since “God is All,” pointing anywhere means that you are actually pointing to God.
