My purpose for the video is to not only let you associate a name with a face but to show you that I am a real person; a real type 2 diabetic, not some non-diabetic that may or may not be working in the medical profession. Or worse yet, may not even be a diabetic themselves. Of course, I'm not saying it's a bad thing that they are not diabetic. I don't wish that on anyone. I've seen first hand how painful the end stage is in diabetes, specifically type 2.




Regardless, it's become evidently clear they truly DO NOT understand type 2 diabetes. To me the issue is that they’re out there dishing out dietary advice passed on from some textbook, pamphlet or website that only makes diabetes worse.




In fact, they promote eating the very foods that contribute to the type 2 diabetes itself! How is this possible you're wondering. I really wish I was making this up but I know this to be true having seen for myself the drop in blood sugars after I removed certain categories of foods from my diet.

I got sick and tired of being sick and tired as a result of my type 2 diabetes. I bet you can relate. My personal diabetes story spans 20 years which except for brief periods during that time, it certainly felt like a constant swim upstream. It was a marathon that I wasn't ever going to win. There is no sugar coating diabetes existence, its remediation, management or control; use whatever word you want to, it's all the same. But I can assure you from plenty of experience it also doesn't equate to climbing Mt. Everest. I did it and I'm not extraordinary in any sense of the word.
