...But of course, those portion sizes would have to be insanely small. You would lose weight...but you would also feel like Max and those Minnesota study participants: like you were starving to death.

Bacon is a food that has a very high energy density, meaning it has a high number of calories relative to it's weight. A food like cantaloupe on the other hand, has a very low energy density, meaning it has fewer calories at the same weight as the bacon.

So what does all this fancy science talk mean?

Well, you would have to eat 7 whole cantaloupes to match the number of calories in that same serving of bacon. And guess which would fill you up more?

Eating foods with lower energy density
will allow you lose weight on a full
stomach, every time.

Of course, I’m over-simplifying this example. Not all calories are made equal…And I’m not saying you should force-feed yourself 7 cantaloupes...but I AM saying that when it comes to losing weight on a full stomach, some foods are more energy-dense than others, and some foods are much better suited for keeping your stomach full, and your taste buds satisfied.


Now, if you had the choice of eating bacon all day long, or cantaloupe, I know which you would choose: bacon of course! That’s because sometimes healthy foods taste yucky. Nobody wants to stuff their face with vegetables in order to lose weight.
