“When I started high school I tried out for the Wrestling team. My sophomore year I was in the 90 lbs weight class and was nearly 6 feet tall. In my Junior year I grew two more inches and added on some weight. That year I wrestled at 103lbs. In my senior year I started to fill out and graduated weighing 130lbs. I was a pretty skinny kid. My Uncle had always told me it was better to grow slow because you will live longer. Over the next several years I continued to fill out, workout, and was very successful in the sport of rowing. Eventually I stopped competing in athletics and I had to start working for a living. I never stopped working out but ended up weighing 220 lbs and was that weight for 20 years. I always felt I was a bit heavy and wanted to return my weight to around 200 lbs. I knew that the standard prescription was to cut calories (eat less) and workout hard (expend more calories).
