…In Just 4 Weeks!
If You Are A Beginner Or Intermediate Artist Who Struggles With:
- Keeping Your Portrait In Proportion…
- Adding Depth Using Realistic Shading…
- Or Capturing The Likeness Of Your Portrait…
…Then This Will Be The Most Important Letter You Ever Read!

Dear Friend,

Let me ask you a few questions …

…Have you ever been frustrated at how a portrait that you drew would just look “off” …and you couldn’t figure out WHY or HOW to make it better?

…Have you ever drawn a portrait that started out “decent enough” …but as you continued, the more it became increasingly out of proportion …until the facial features didn’t look like they belonged on the same face?

…Do you struggle with shading & adding depth to your portrait …and no matter how much time you spend working on it, your portrait never looks as realistic as you would like?

…Are you frustrated at how your drawings always turn out looking “cartoonish” and don’t even resemble the person you’re drawing?

…Do you wish that you could draw a portrait that actually captures the likeness of your subject …one that you would be proud to show off and hang on your wall?

…Do you sometimes feel like you are just not “artistic enough” or “don’t have what it takes” to be a great artist?

If you answered “YES” to any of these questions, then I have some GREAT news for you …

It’s not your fault!

See, the reason that you’ve been struggling with portrait drawing is NOT because you’re not talented enough …or artistic enough …or because you’re not trying hard enough …

It’s simply because you’re not following the correct method!

What if I told you that drawing truly beautiful, realistic portraits is actually NOT as difficult and complicated as most drawing books would have you believe …and that just by making a few key “tweaks” to the way you are currently drawing, you will immediately start to see dramatic results?

What if I told you that there is a “shortcut formula” …specifically designed for drawing portraits from photographs …that you could learn in days …and immediately see a 10 fold improvement in your finished works?

Would you be interested?

Well stick with me, because in just a few moments, I’m going to reveal to you this “shortcut formula” and show you how it will solve every problem you are currently having with portrait drawing …whether you are struggling with proportion, realistic shading, or capturing the likeness of your subject.

But first, let me tell you the story of how I made this breakthrough discovery that has changed the way I draw portraits forever …
The Story Of How I Discovered The Ultimate Portrait Drawing Shortcut

When I first started to learn portrait drawing a few years ago, I didn’t have any special art skills or experience to help me. I was about as “artistically challenged” as it gets. No matter how bad you think you are at drawing …trust me, I was worse.

The only thing I had going for me was my love of art and a determination to become good.

Ever since I was a kid I’ve been interested in drawing. Despite not being very good at it – it was one of my favorite things to do.

But unfortunately as I grew up, life’s responsibility got in the way and I had less and less free time. Eventually, I had to give it up altogether.

It wasn’t until I was much older that I finally decided to pursue my passion and start drawing again. I thought that it would be a great way for me to creatively express myself.

I always admired those who could realistically capture people’s facial expressions, so I thought I would try my hand at it. My goal was to be able to create portraits of my family and friends …and hang them up in my house.

Of course I eventually wanted to learn how to draw from real life and even from my imagination. But I knew that as a beginner, it would be best to master portrait drawing using photographs as my subjects.

And so I started to practice …

But without any guidance, all I could do was draw …and draw …and draw …and hope that I would get better.

It was a painfully frustrating process.

My artistic attempts would go a little something like this:

I’d pick out a photo that caught my eye. My hopes would be high as I put pencil to paper. After all, the photos always looked easy enough to draw.

But as soon as I began drawing, I quickly realized that things were not going according to plan.

My portraits were always way out of proportion. In theory it seems simple enough to create a portrait from a photograph …and yet despite my best effort to draw as accurately as possible, I could never seem to get it right.

On a good day, my sketches would just look “off”. On a bad day, they would look down right cartoon-ish. It literally looked like a 5-year old drew them!

My shading skills weren’t so hot either. On the rare occasion that I was able to draw a half way decent portrait, I would almost always ruin it with my horrible shading. It caused my drawing to look weird and unrealistic.

I was mostly using photos of celebrities as reference, but you would never be able to recognize WHO I was drawing …even if I told you.

I was so ashamed of my work that I didn’t want to show it to anyone, much less hang it up on the wall.

The most frustrating part was that no matter how much I practiced, I never seemed to improve. I was stuck and didn’t know how to get better.

Of course I tried to turn to books for assistance, but they weren’t much help at all.

Most drawing books would go on and on about some abstract art theory that did nothing to help me improve. (If you’ve ever tried to read one of these books, then you know what I mean.)

Being a very logical, left-brained person I found this very frustrating. I just wanted some actionable, practical advice that I could use. I just wanted to learn to draw better …not get a Phd. in Art Philosophy!

Plus the techniques that they were teaching were not aimed at beginners. Afterall, you need to learn to crawl before you can walk.

After reading through (and being disappointed with) dozens of drawing books, I began to realize 2 things:

1) Most of these books are written by out-of-touch artists who have long since forgotten what it’s like to be a beginner.

2) The techniques that they teach are meant for drawing from real life, which is fine for advanced artists, but not for beginner and intermediate artists who still need to learn how to draw from photographs first.

Now don’t get me wrong …not ALL the books out there are bad. Some did offer useful advice that would help me draw better. But they were few and far in between. For every useful bit of information that I got, I had to sit through page after page of boring text.

After struggling for a long time without much improvement, I decided that I needed to get help from a personal drawing teacher.

And that’s when I met Christian McCarthy.
Portrait Drawing Secrets of a Seasoned Police Sketch Artist

Let me tell you a bit about Christian.

He is a professional artist and teacher who leads drawing classes at a local community college. He works with beginning and intermediate students and helps them master the art of drawing portraits from photographs.

But what really makes Christian unique is that he also works as a police sketch artist.

Think about that for a second.

Here’s a guy whose sole job is to create accurate portraits. People’s lives literally depend on his ability to sketch accurate portraits.

After years of having to draw portraits without even being able to see the subject …he has learned to hone in on all the key details that really captures the likeness of a person’s face.

Needless to say, his years of experience as a police sketch artist gave him a unique insight into portrait drawing. And he used this knowledge to help his students.

This is where the story gets interesting…

Having worked with hundreds of artists, Christians started to notice very clear patterns about where they were struggling.
The REAL Reason Why You Struggle With Portrait Drawing

He noticed that almost all his students seem to have 3 common problems …

Problem #1) Their portraits did not look realistic.

This was because they were using improper shading techniques. Shading is the big secret to realistic drawing. It’s what brings your portrait to life.

Unfortunately, most of the books out there either don’t focus on shading at all or they teach shading techniques that doesn’t create a realistic look.

So Christian developed a new way to shade that was both extremely fast and easy to learn.

When his student learned this method, their drawing instantly looked 10 times better. (More on this later …)

Problem #2) Next he noticed that they all had problem keeping their drawings in proportion.

This was because they were trying to free hand an entire portrait which can be very difficult …even for an experience artist.

This caused many students to draw very cartoonish-looking portraits and become frustrated and give up.

So Christian taught his students to use a simple guide system when they draw. This helped keep their portraits in proportion and all the facial features in the right place.

It was like using training wheels to help develop their free hand drawing skills.

After teaching the students this system he noticed that their problem with proportion instantly disappeared. They began drawing portraits that were much more accurate.

And once you apply this method to your drawing, you will be amazed by the instance (and dramatic) improvement it makes.

Problem #3) The last problem that he noticed is that the students had a hard time capturing the likeness of their portraits.

Even though their portraits might look similar to the reference photo, they never look quite like the subject. They were just missing something. Something subtle.

Of course, this was Christian’s area of expertise. From his experience as a sketch artist, he knew that there are key details on a person’s face that accounted for its likeness.

And if you knew what these key details were and paid attention to them, you would capture the likeness of your subject much more easily.

He told his students about this insight and taught them what to look for and the result was amazing. Students whose portrait was un-recognizable before suddenly looks just like the person they were drawing.
The 3 Most Important Factors In Portrait Drawing

But the truly amazing change came when the students applied ALL 3 of Christian’s techniques.

And that’s when Christian realized that he has stumbled on the “magic bullets” of portrait drawing.

Have you ever heard of the 80/20 rule? It a law that says 80 percent of the result you get comes from 20% of your effort. In other words, the majority of your success comes from doing just a few critical things.

These 3 things were: knowing the right shading techniques, using a guiding system to help you draw, and knowing the key details that capture the likeness of a portrait.

And when you learn to focus on these 3 things, your portrait drawing will improve at break-neck speed.

Unfortunately all the books out there focuses on the unimportant 80% and never teaches these critically 20%.

And so Christian took all three of these pillars and combined them into a step-by-step formula that anyone can use to draw realistic portraits from photographs. He called this system, “The Blended Pencil Method.”

After spending countless hours refining and perfecting the “Blended Pencil Method,” Christian decided to open up his own pirate art school where he would teach it.

Because his system was so simple and efficient, he claims to be able to teach ANYONE (even a complete beginner) how to draw his/her first realistic portrait …in just days!

When I first met Christian, it was this promise that got my attention.

I was very skeptical at first, but after seeing and hearing about all the amazing results of  his past students, I decided to give it a try.

I signed up for the first lesson and let me tell you …they weren’t cheap!

Each lessons cost a whooping $50.

Again I was hesitant at first but I thought if I didn’t at least give it a try, I’ll never know.

Boy, was I glad I did!

In the first lesson, Christian told me about the secret to drawing realistic, 3 dimensional objects and taught me about his special method of shading.

Everything was so simple and easy to learn that I was shocked at what a big difference it made to my drawing.

By the end of the first lesson I had already drew a realistic, 3D sphere that I would never had been able to draw before.

I was an instant believer.

I kept taking the lessons and diligently did all the exercises that he gave me.

And after each lesson, I could feel my skills getting better and better. I was becoming more and more confident every day.

After completing all the lessons, I tried to draw my first portrait and this was what happened …

My portrait went from looking like this (before I took the course):

To looking like this:

…And that was just my first attempt after completing the course. As I practice, I improved even more!

When I showed my drawings to my friends and family, they couldn’t believe that I had drawn them.

They kept saying things like, “WOW, you drew that? No you didn’t. Did you really? Oh my god, it looks like it was drawn by a professional.”

I started to draw portraits of my family and hung them up on the walls. It felt great when I had company over because everyone would comment on my drawings.

They kept saying how talented and artistic I am and begged me to draw their portrait. Some even offered to pay me!

Some of my friends kept asking me to teach them how to draw portraits too.

And that’s when I realized that this system could help a lot of other aspiring artists.

I asked Christian to let me put this system into a video home study course. But he turned me down.

He was already running a very successful private tutoring business with tons of eager students wanting to pay him to learn his secret method. And he thought that a home study course would hurt his business.

But I persisted. It took many attempts and in the end I had to pay him a small fortune to get him to agree to let me turn his system into videos.

And so we went to work. We spent months mapping out the course, recording the videos, and editing all the footage. We made sure to cover everything that Christian’s students would learn in his private lessons.

And finally, after months of work, I’m proud to introduce this brand new course called …

I know that once you use what you learn in this course to draw your first realistic portrait, you’ll be so excited that you’ll want to show it to every one you know.
