Long story short, I took the doctor’s advice and became responsible for my body and my health. I traded in French fries and Taco Bell for fresh fruits and vegetables and began my fitness journey by jogging around the track at school… okay more like walking with a little bit of jogging mixed in. Two months later my cholesterol was down and my physical condition was much better. I was actually touching my toes!

 

 

 

That’s when the light bulb went off…

 

 

Throughout the years, I’ve stumbled and fallen back into old eating habits. Old habits are hard to break, but not impossible.

 

The most important lesson, I’ve learned is not to beat myself up for falling short but to keep going. As the saying goes, failure is only a fact when you give up. Everyone gets knocked down, the question is will you get back up? Will you keep going?

 

Most of the time, I didn’t know what to eat or how much to eat. For years, I’ve been my own guinea pig. Testing diets, cleanses, and detox programs in pursuit of greater health.
