TRY THE ART OF PENCIL SKETCHING

LEARN HOW TO FILL EMPTY HOURS WITH THE JOY OF DRAWING

Hello, my name is Robert Wogrin, my friends call me Bob.I am a
Colorado Artist, age 83,and I think that I am one of the lucky seniors
because I have been a professional artist for 60 years, and I am still
enjoying painting and sketching daily. I have created this website for
all of those seniors that I know and don't know who have lots of empty
hours to fill and nothing to fill them with. My friends who have tried
it say they are having lots of fun with it. It will show you a method
of pencil sketching that will allow you many hours of satisfaction.
I have designed an ebook called "THE GOLDEN YEARS" I created it for
any person but mostly for seniors. This is not an art course, but it
teaches the art of pencil sketching, by learning how I hold the pencil
to achieve the effects that you see in my sketches. There are 33
sketches that I have taken from my sketch books to be copied, from
heads- hands- flowers- trees- rivers- barns- garden walls- pets and
more. I encourage you to copy them as many times as you want to become
as comfortable with the pencil as possible. Perhaps comfortable enough
to use this method to create your own sketches from your photos of
past memories of places, things, or even a sketch portrait of a
grandchild.
" This still life is a good example to show that it isn't necessary to
look outside of your residence to find material for sketching. This
one found on my dining room table. The inside of your home is full of
things and people to sketch and you can do it any time of the year.
Home is a good place to sketch your mate sleeping watching TV.

PETS-- Your pets can be a lot of fun to draw. The only problem is they
wont hold still long enough,so you will probably have to photograph
them. There are two pages of pet sketches in The Golden Years ebook.
Have fun. I was born and raised in Colorado so the natural focus for
my work was the Rocky Mountains, especially those called the "14ers".
They are the 54 Peaks in Colorado whose elevations are greater than
Fourteen Thousand feet. It was to these peaks I climbed to and around
to gather the material I needed to paint them . On site, I would climb
around to find the view that I thought would best portray the
personality of the peak. Then I would do many sketches, and then one
of the view I wanted. I took lots of photos to familiarize my self to
the surrounding area, then back to the studio to paint a 30x40 oil
painting of the peak. All 54 paintings were the same size and I named
the series "The Highest of the High". All of these paintings are now
in Museums, corporate and private collections, including the Forbes
Magazine collection. I have had numerous magazine articles written
about me including the American Artist among others. It has always
been my belief that sketching is the foundation for art. It has given
me many hours of gratification. I hope it will do the same for you.
