While strolling the aisles of an open-air market one fine Sunday
morning something caught my eye that stopped me dead in my tracks. It
was a MINIATURE AQUARIUM of sand, seashells, glass fish and blue water
only, "Hey wait a minute, this isnt water! And theres a wick in it!
What is this stuff?" I asked.
"Gel," said the woman at the booth, "its a GEL CANDLE."
"ITS A CANDLE?" I asked amazed, as I turned it about. I was
MESMERIZED as I looked down upon it, and up at it, and into it
sideways and all around, turning it this way and that in the light.
"Yes, its a candle. I have three different sizes as you see here,"
she said as she pointed to the items on her table.
As I clasped my mini aquarium TREASURE in my hands, I gazed at the
other candles on display. They were all beautiful.
"Who makes them?" I asked.
"My brother and I do," she replied.
"YOU MAKE THEM? HOW?" I asked, but she just shrugged with a knowing
smile, her gel candle secrets kept safe within.
I WAS HOOKED. I bought that lovely little aquarium (pictured above),
and when I took it home and lit it, ITS BEAUTY CAME ALIVE as the LIGHT
of the flame DANCED OFF THE SHELLS.
To this day that candle is a TREASURED REMINDER of my first step
taken so many years ago into the world of Gel
and the journey that has followed...
Like myself, when one sees the gel candles, MANY QUESTIONS COME TO

NOTICE
Never leave a burning candle unattended. This material is NOT
intended to be used by or made by children under 18 years of age
without close adult supervision. Keep all candles (gel, soy, wax) away
from children. Gel candles may resemble a beverage or food product.
All pictures and references to food/beverages are to "non-edible"
items made of nonfood (wax, glass, etc.) components. Be certain that
you understand the steps and precautions in making any gel candle
design and in using the gel candles. Failure to follow instructions
could result in fire, injury or smoke damage. If you have any
questions contact your Supplier. Keep wick centered and trimmed to 1/4
inch to prevent smoke and soot buildup. Burn only on a stable,
heat-resistant surface for no more than four hours at a time. If flame
gets too large or exposed wick is greater than 1/4 inch, extinguish
flame and trim wick. Keep away from drafts and flammable material. Do
not allow matches or wick trimmings to fall into melt pool. Never burn
the last half of a candle. Do not move while burning or if gel is
still hot. It is up to YOU the candle maker to TEST TEST TEST each
design or procedure prior to distribution as sales or gifts. We do not
recommend or endorse the use of flammable items, dead sea creatures,
or real food items in gel candles. If you choose to design with such
items, as in any design, it is up to YOU to ensure that the design
safe for the end user. You should provide instructional warnings to
end user, especially to not leave any burning candle unattended.
