The Knowledge Behind The Fit Blueprint Program

The Fit Blueprint program is the result of many years of personal training and seeing clients get results.  I started off with what I thought would work to help people lose fat.  Then, kept trimming off the fat, one layer after the next, until I got to the bare essence of this program.

The first major change was when I started training clients, I didn't immediately address nutrition.

I was scared to.

These people came to me not having done any physical activity in their lives.  Here I was putting this shock to their system with exercise.  I wanted to slowly integrate the nutrition into their program so it would be more gradual and people wouldn't fall off the wagon.

What I got was people SLOWLY seeing results.  It needed to be changed and it was.  After working with several great registered dieticians and researching some of the best supplemental companies out there, I have created a nutritional plan guaranteed to work.

Next was the exercise itself.  I was a firm believer that you needed to do cardio for 30-45 minutes, at 60-75% of your max heartrate, so you can burn fat efficiently.  5-6 days a week would be great.  Yet, I only saw clients 2-3 times a week, so they had to do this on their own.

So guess what happened??  It very rarely got done.

PLUS, we had to add strength training in and I recommended 3-4 times a week.  Very few, if any, of my clients could afford me 3-4 times a week.  Which, once again, meant they had to do some strength training on their own.

And once again, it rarely happened.

I was trying to train my clients like a fitness competitor or athlete, assuming they had the time to train like these athletes did.

Unfortunately, they didn't.  In fact, my clients are pretty busy just like YOU and ME.

My clients were always going to be busy, so if they couldn't change their schedule to match the frequency of the program, THEN I HAD TO CHANGE THE PROGRAM.

And that is exactly what I did.

After having spent years working out 5-6 times a week, I suddenly was a 30 year old man, married, and with a baby.  I didn't have the time to go to the gym and do what is expected of me.  Which is tough, since I work in a business that I need to be in shape.

Who is going to hire an out-of-shape trainer who has a muffin top??

Being a strength coach, I have worked with many athletes and you start to notice something.  People want to get physiques like athletes.  Low body fat, muscular definition, and a sleek look is basically what it boils down to for a lot of clients.

You ever noticed the physiques of a distance runner, who runs long distances for a very long time (kind of like what I was prescribing to my clients) and the physique of a sprinter, who does short bursts and basically uses interval training as their means of getting in shape.

The distance runner is skinny, but has no definition.  There really isn't anything appealing about a distance runner.  While the sprinter has definition, low body fat, and you can really see the shape of his/her muscles. 

Plus, a lot of distance runners have a lot of nagging injuries due to excessive overuse.  I love as I'm driving down the road and I see some runner struggling along, who looks like each step is shooting pain all through the joints.  That is healthy?  So, why should I prescribe that type of cardio for my clients, when it could be done more efficiently.

The Fit Blueprint is comprised of a cardiovascular component that is pure interval training AND your strength training workouts.  I have designed these strength training exercises to develop lean muscle that makes you look good, but at the same time performing the repetitions much like an interval workout.

Have you ever noticed when you are lifting weights, if you have the right intensity, at the end of the set you are breathing hard?  That is because lifting weights is an anaerobic component, exactly like if you were sprinting. 

Hmmm... See the connection.  So the intensity is at a level that will get you to hit your health goals no matter what they are. 

If you want to lose fat, pounds, and inches, you have to lift hard!  If you want to gain muscle and pounds, you have to lift hard!  The Fit Blueprint has the instructions to adapt to your program so if you want to lose 10 pounds or gain 10 pounds, you have the means to do so.

The fact is interval training and lifting hard will help you burn fat quicker than what you are probably doing currently.  If you haven't seen changes to your physique you enjoy, then this is your option.  Spending less than 3 hours a week on your workout and getting results in half the time, should be worth it right?
