In my first year of trying to save money on groceries, I saved over
$2100, between $140 and $180 per month. All of the grocery savings
were by using the methods on this website. My initial set up took me a
few hours and monthly maintenence takes about 1 hour per week, not
including shopping time. Do the math, 1 hour per week with $180
savings per month. That comes to about $45 per hour!
I have put this site together to give others some grocery shopping
tips on how I have saved anywhere from 30% to 50% on weekly groceries,
mostly on name brand products. It has become an entertaining hobby as
well as an obsession. I remember when every trip to the grocery store
cost me anywhere from $150 to $250 for my family of four. Now I rarely
have a grocery shopping trip over $150.
What I have written is a self taught, documented method of saving
money at the grocery store. I have not spent money on special coupon
books, nor have I paid to become a grocery shopping club member. Yet I
have consistently saved money on my grocery bills and these methods
will work for you as well.
