I've done a ton of business by placing a small ad in the _Enquirer
_classified section. I do what's called two-step advertising where
I'll place an ad about weight loss with a toll-free number that's
attached to a voice mail (or you can include a website address).
People will call in and leave their name and address. I'll send a
mailer to them. Since they requested it, I get a very high percent of
orders compared to cold mailing lists. I'll get up to 10% orders
versus only 1%!
For example, I'll get about 300 phone calls per week from an ad that
costs about $250. I'll sell between 20 and 30 weight-loss systems per
week! Yes, ads can me _much cheaper _than direct mail.
But It Gets Even Better...
My mother-in-law Rosanne has jumped from one business to another.
Her specialty is doing those home parties to sell things like candles
and _Tupperware_. She's never made much money with those other home
party kits and has given up on every company she's sold for.
She first came to me because she was interested in a weight loss
program. She had seen how much weight I had lost and she was

You don't have to do personal selling, especially if you don't like
talking to people or dragging your family and friends in. There's a
way to do these parties (if you wanted to) by not really talking to
anyone at all. I call it the Avon technique where you go door to door
(or have one of your kids do it) with a little baggie on the door
handle with a brochure inside. The brochure is a sales letter
(different than the direct mail version) that they just can't pass up!
They give you a call and they'll either come to the party or just
order the product!
Use this party technique (outlined in the manual you'll get) if you
don't have a lot of money to get started! You can go from near zero to
thousands per week!
