_5 PRINCIPLES OF ENLIGHTENED GIVING_ is not filled with pages of
fluffy psycho-jargon and feel-good stories. It's just pages packed
with easy-to-understand diagrams and explanations that give you a
practical, real-world understanding of what is happening in your life,
and why. The result of many years of study by the author to understand
and overcome her own dysfunctional relationships, _5 PRINCIPLES_
distills hundreds of pages of research and many years of insight and
experience into just 21 pages of text and 8 powerful, easy-to-grasp
diagrams. The additional 4 pages of insightful questions will get you
to the DEEP, HIDDEN ROOTS that keep you trapped in dysfunctional and
unproductive relationships. If read with care, honesty, and
willingness to learn, this book will make you aware of the _REAL_
issues that most self-help 'experts' don't even know exist.

Not for individuals only, this book is also recommended for
non-profit and governmental organizations willing to ask themselves
whether their approaches to solving social problems is genuinely
useful, or perhaps needs some reconsideration.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Jennifer Christiano holds a B.A. in Social Science and and M.A. in
Behavioral Science from The University of Chicago. Both a scientist
and committed social activist for many years, she began to conceive
this book while suffering from severe burnout and problems in her
social relationships caused by her unhealthy need to give. A sense of
disillusionment, together with curiosity about why the organizations
to which she belonged kept tearing themselves and each other apart,
led her to examine the process of 'giving' more deeply. Her research
surprised her, and led her to conclusions contrary to what most of us
have been taught about the nature, and the value, of giving. She hopes
to assist other individuals and organizations learn from her mistakes,
and avoid or overcome the psychic traps that conventional myths about
generosity create for us.
